Season of Self Care

Winter here in Wisconsin is just around the corner and I wanted to take a minute to talk to you about self care. Self care isn't just about going to the doctor and dentist for a yearly check up, but taking care of yourself as a whole; mind+body+soul. Massage is a wonderful way to be present in your own body, and take some much needed time to unwind. Massage is an important part of your wellness routine year round, but even more so during the long winter months.

A good massage is proven to have immune boosting powers, increase lymphatic flow, improve skin hydration, increase overall circulation and can help banish those winter blues.

Want to add some additional benefits to your massage routine? Ask your therapist to add a dry brushing routine. Dry brushing has similar benefits to massage but also helps increase energy levels, can reduce the appearance of cellulite, and aids in removing dry skin. Add some wonderful nourishing lotion after a treatment and you will be feeling pampered and energized all day.

Just a quick reminder--- Stay hydrated during fall and winter too! We often forget to drink as much water once the weather turns colder, but it is just as important during fall and winter to stay hydrated. Heating, cold dry air and a change in our eating habits can all have an effect on our hydration levels. The current guidelines for getting your daily dose of H2O requires that you drink half your body weight in ounces a day! I know that can seem like a challenge to some of you, but your body will thank you for it!
